Information Collected
•What country your computer is located in. This is helpful for us to determine what languages to support and test in.
•Basic information about your computer. This includes the operating system, how much RAM you have and how large your display is. This information helps us to determine our minimum system requirements. We always want to move forward and use the most up-to-date technologies but we can’t move so fast that our user’s computers will be unsupported.
•Which components or features of the software are used, how frequently and for how long. This information is important because it helps tell us what features are imporant to you. If a feature is rarely used it may be hard to use or not relavent and that is good for us to know. Or if a feature is used all the time but takes a long time to use, maybe we can make it faster or provide better training.
•Which host applications you access our software from, such as Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom or Apple Aperture. This information helps us to understand how we fit into your workflow.
We do generate a unique random number identifier that is stored on your computer. This identifier is randomly generated and does not contain any personal information and is not used to identify you. We use this identifier to determine how common an action is. For example if you use a feature 100 times that needs to be identified differently from 100 people using the same feature once each.
We use the information gathered, in conjunction with survey results and your feedback to improve our software. We may share this information with partners, but the information cannot be used to identify you.
The information that is collected by or sent to ON1 may be stored and processed in the United States or any other country in which ON1 or its agents maintain facilities. ON1 may disclose this information if required to do so or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary.
Changes to this Statement
ON1 may occasionally update this privacy statement. When we do, we will also revise the “last updated” date at the top of the privacy statement. We encourage you to periodically review this privacy statement to stay informed about how we are helping to protect the information we collect.
