Downloading ON1 Software Updates
We provide free updates for all our products during their product lifecycle. For example, this means that if you own ON1 Photo RAW 2023, you will receive free updates automatically for the duration of its lifecycle. Any update from ON1 Photo RAW 2023.xx to ON1 Photo RAW 2023.x.xx is free of charge for you. This ensures that you are always using the latest version of our software and have access to new features, improved performance, and bug fixes at no extra cost.
Check for Update on Launch
ON1 apps will automatically check for updates on launch, enabled by default. This means that when you start ON1, the product will communicate with ON1's software update server to check for any available updates. If an update is found, ON1 will prompt you to download and install it. This ensures that you are always using the latest version of the software, which can help to improve stability, performance, and add new features.
If you choose to skip the update, you can always check for updates manually by going to the "Help" menu and selecting "Check for Updates". Keeping your software up-to-date is important as updates often include bug fixes and patches that can enhance your experience with the software.
How to Manually Check for Updates
To download a software update for your app, simply follow these steps:
- Open the app that you want to update.
- Click on the "Help" option in the top toolbar.
- Select "Check for Updates" from the dropdown menu that appears.
- The app will then connect to the ON1 update server to determine whether you are running the current version of the software.
- If an update is available, you will be prompted to download and install it. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.
- Once the update is complete, you should restart the app to ensure that all changes take effect.
Note: It is always a good idea to back up your files before downloading an update. Additionally, you may want to check that you have enough storage space on your device to accommodate the new update.
