Understanding the "System Requirements" Warning in ON1 Photo RAW 2026
- Note, previous version download links for ON1 PHOTO RAW 2026.4.1 are listed below if your system doesn't meet specs. (scroll down to bottom of page)
If you've opened ON1 Photo RAW 2026 and seen a pop-up titled "System Requirements — Your System Does Not Meet the Recommended Requirements," this article explains what it means, whether you can keep using the app, and how our minimum and recommended specs compare.
What triggers this warning?
Starting with Photo RAW 2026, the app automatically checks your computer's specs against our published system requirements each time it launches. If your computer falls short of the recommended specs in one or more areas, you'll see a warning listing exactly which requirements aren't met — for example, your operating system version, available VRAM, or RAM.
Each item in the pop-up is marked with:
- ✅ Green checkmark — your system meets or exceeds the recommended spec
- ⚠️ Yellow warning — your system is below the recommended spec for that item
Can I still use the app?
It depends on whether you're below recommended specs or below minimum specs. These are two different situations:
Below recommended specs, but at or above minimum specs
This is a warning, not a block. Clicking Continue lets you keep using ON1 Photo RAW normally. You may notice:
- Slower performance when editing, especially with AI-powered tools, masking, or large file sizes
- Longer load times when browsing or processing photos
- Reduced responsiveness in certain features that rely on graphics processing (GPU/VRAM)
Below minimum specs
Your system will be blocked from running ON1 Photo RAW 2026. Unlike the recommended-specs warning above, there is no "Continue" option in this case — the app will not launch. This is expected behavior, not a bug.
If you're blocked, you'll need to either upgrade the component(s) that don't meet minimum requirements, or reinstall a previous version of ON1 Photo RAW that supports your current system (see below).
What if I don't want to see this warning again?
Check the "Don't show me this message again" box in the pop-up window, then click Continue. You can always view your system's compatibility again by revisiting this article or contacting support.

What should I do if I see this warning?
- Check which items are flagged (marked with a yellow ⚠️) and compare them to the tables above.
- If you're above minimum but below recommended: you can continue using the app. If you notice slower performance, consider whether an upgrade (more RAM, more VRAM, or a newer OS version) would help — this is optional, not required.
-
If your system is below minimum specs and the app won't launch: see "I'm blocked from opening the app" below.
I'm blocked from opening the app — what do I do?
If your system doesn't meet the minimum requirements, ON1 Photo RAW 2026 will not launch. To keep working, you have two options:
- Upgrade the affected component(s) (for example, update your OS to a supported version, or move to a machine with more VRAM) so your system meets the minimum requirements, then relaunch.
-
Reinstall a previous version of ON1 Photo RAW that's compatible with your current system. You can continue using that version until you're able to upgrade your hardware/OS.
- [Link to previous version downloads] (agents: confirm the correct version link/installer for the customer's platform before sending)
- Your existing licenses, presets, and catalogs will still work with the previous version.
